Poetry and circus performance
Inspired by the writings of Mahmoud Darwish, and in particular the poem The Earth is closing in on us, Marion Collé, Arthur Sidoroff and Alexis Auffray have staged a circus and sound performance in the Horta Hall at Bozar.
After the last sky is a homage to the Palestinian poet who died 10 years ago. This performance was the adaptation of an initial version, performed at the L’Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris in September 2018.
Debate: circus in Palestine
Marion Collé, Jessica De Vlieghere and Hamza Ghazi (Circus Zonder Handen) spoke of their experiences of the circus arts in Palestine. Marion, Jessica and Hamza share their common passion for Palestine, for working with young people in difficult situations and for experimenting with all forms of cultural expression.
As founder of the Palestinian Circus School, Jessica has seen the circus become a new form of expression giving birth to a new generation of Palestinian artists. Hamza Ghazi, student of Circus Zonder Handen in Brussels, stressed that circus is an art accessible to all. One that connects, strengthens and transforms young people.
